Travel with Me: My Iceland Adventure
Iceland Adventure Gallery
I thought I was prepared for the waterfalls, glaciers, and black sand beaches, but nothing compares to seeing this incredible country in person. Every day seemed to top the last, and I found myself saying "WOW!" more times than I could count.
One of my very first stops was Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, where I actually walked behind the waterfall. The wind was wild, the mist had me completely soaked, and somehow that made the experience even more magical. It was one of those moments that reminds you why you travel.
From there, the adventure just kept building. I relaxed in the warm geothermal waters of Laugarás Lagoon, where the contrast of the crisp Icelandic air and steaming hot water created one of the most peaceful experiences I've ever had.
The drive along Iceland's South Coast was unlike anything I've experienced. We stopped at the breathtaking Glacier Lagoon, watched adventurers prepare for glacier hikes, and continued on to the famous black sand beaches with countless scenic stops in between. Every turn in the road felt like another postcard.
Of course, I couldn't resist adding a little adventure! Riding buggies through the Icelandic Highlands and stopping for lunch inside a cave was definitely a highlight. It was the perfect reminder that no matter where I travel, I'm always going to find the adventure. (Continue reading below)

For the final part of my journey, I slowed things down at Torfhús Retreat, a luxury retreat surrounded by Iceland's stunning landscapes. The private hot tubs, peaceful surroundings, and cozy cabins were exactly what I needed. (Although I have to admit...I came prepared for the cold, not for a cabin that stayed so warm I had to crack the windows open in the middle of the night!)
Some of my favorite natural wonders included the unbelievably blue Brúarfoss Waterfall, the powerful Gullfoss Waterfall, and watching a beautiful rainbow stretch across the Icelandic mountains one morning. I also stood between two continents at Þingvellir National Park, where North America and Europe meet, a truly unforgettable experience.
One of the funniest moments happened at Strokkur Geyser. Every few minutes everyone would gather around waiting...and then WHOOSH! Boiling water would shoot into the air. Even knowing it was coming, it still made me jump every single time!
I also loved experiencing Iceland's unique food culture. Baking traditional rye bread underground using geothermal heat was such a fascinating experience, and surprisingly delicious with butter, boiled eggs, and pickled herring. I even tried Greenland fermented shark...and let's just say that's one Icelandic delicacy I only needed to experience once! 😂
Another favorite stop was Friðheimar Tomato Farm, where we toured the greenhouse and enjoyed an incredible lunch surrounded by thousands of tomato plants. It was one of those uniquely Icelandic experiences that makes travel so memorable.
And yes...I even spent time hanging out with Iceland's adorable sheep, proving that sometimes the locals are the cutest part of the trip!
This journey reminded me why I love what I do. Every destination has a story, and experiencing them firsthand allows me to better guide my clients as they create memories of their own.
If Iceland has been on your bucket list, I can honestly say it exceeded every expectation I had. Whether you're looking for adventure, breathtaking scenery, unique culinary experiences, or simply a place that leaves you speechless, Iceland delivers.
Who's ready to experience the Land of Fire and Ice? Let's make it happen!
